Logline:
Bai(right) never feels romantic attraction until she meets Xiong(left); as her feelings shift, she struggles to navigate this change and her relationship with Xiong.

Synopsis:
Bai (she/they), an Accounting student with a passion for filmmaking, enrolls in a Cinematography course where she meets Xiong (they/them). After several movie nights together, Bai invites Xiong over, only to find herself panicking at the realization that her feelings have changed.

Xiong notices Bai’s shift when they flip movie night posters in class. Having once lost a best friend due to an unreciprocated romantic connection, Xiong also panics. As they navigate their emotions, their friendship hangs in the balance—will they find their way back to each other?

Director's Statement:
This story is inspired by conversations with aromantic individuals and my personal experiences. Writing the script was challenging, as it required honesty and vulnerability with painful memories.

I want to explore the complexities between romanticism and aromanticism while emphasizing that being aromantic (Aro) is also a queer experience—one that should not be rigidly defined. I hope no one will be excluded from the queer community for not fitting a “pure” definition.

Storyboard Design:
I created the initial storyboard and refined it with my DP. We opted for simple, fluid camera movements to immerse the audience in Bai’s emotional journey. The cinematography mirrors Bai and Xiong’s experiences—when they first meet, the camera moves with their excitement and surprise, visually echoing their connection.
